So what work have we done? Well, as we mentioned, we purchased Buttercup from the original family in South Australia. She had been lovingly looked after by her previous owners and had lived most of her life in the country. She did have some minor body damage, but no serious rust. We stripped her back and repaired any rust and body damage and painted her in her original Wattle yellow. We also stripped out the old camper interior and refitted a full width rock-n-roll and redid all the upholstery in brown to keep with the original 70's look. We also replaced the poptop canvas and had it custom made with stripes.
As for the mechanicals, she drives really well and is very tight. She has a 2 litre fuel injected engine which is the best motor you can get in a Kombi. No need to worry about tuning carburettors, just get her serviced regularly and she will be good to you. She starts easy every time and cruises nicely on the highway. We have checked her out for a roadworthy in NSW and she is all ready to go.
Last registered in South Australia but expired early this year. If you are from South Australia we still have the original plates so you can transfer it to you and pay the rego. If you are in NSW we will supply a valid blue slip (Roadworthy certificate) with the sale. For other states you will need to go through your standard registration process.
